AN EARLY NINETEENTH CENTURY COTTON SPENCER JACKET;
with Indian style embroidery and matching dress
measures approx. 30cm across front hem of jacket x 28.5cm from nape of neck to hem
32cm across front of chest of dress x 132cm from shoulder to hem
Some staining to the front of the Spencer jacket including collar. Left hand side of collar has tears near seam. Dark stain on top seam of front of jacket. Stains on collar at the back both sides and stains on the back of the jacket. Buttons discolored but overall good, and present. Small hole to top of left sleeve. Numerous stains and discoloration to sleeves.
Dress armpit seams coming undone and right side with tear. Patches of discoloration. Front of skirt numerous patches of discoloration and small holes. Back of dress has numerous patches of discoloration. Rip and repair to central seam and seam is ripped. Other patches of repair.
