PROVENANCE: From an important French private collection formed between 1924 and 1941. Purchased from Pierre Saqué, 12 Avenue George V, Paris, 3rd April 1929.
EXHIBITION: Included by Marchant in their 2023 exhibition of Kangxi Biscuit and Pottery: A Private French Collection, no. 13, pp. 30/1.
NOTE: A similar pair from Wannieck, Paris was sold by Sotheby’s Monaco in their auction of Importante Collection de la Compagnie des Indes et Porcelaine de Chine, 9th February 1981, lot 922, p. 16; another was sold by Sotheby’s Monaco in their auction of Belle Collection de Porcelaines de Chine et Objets d’Art Chinois, 23rd June 1985, lot 501.
