the upper deep bowl cast around the exterior with a thin band of crisp mythical birds symmetrically divided by the stylised taotie masks and upright blades, below is a repeating band of stylised archaic stiff leaves, the whole surmounted by twin upright loop handles

PROVENANCE: Dr David McCay. From the same private collection as the Wanli garlic mouth vase gifted to the V&A Museum by his wife Mrs. F H McCay, accession No. CIRC.23-1950.
Good overall condition and appearance. Signs of age and use throughout. Two minor partial repairs o the under side of the feet. Weight 5.2kg.
