1963 Velocette Venom
Registration Number: VJL 718
Frame Number: R514315
- Well presented, matching numbers example
The Velocette Venom is the 500cc version of the highly respected Viper 350cc motorcycle. The Venom was a fast and sophisticated bike that also found success in competition circles. The high cam and short pushrod engine design, together with a high compression aluminium cylinder head created a sporting ride for the discerning motorcyclist. Fine handling was provided by a strong brazed lug frame with swinging arm rear suspension.
This 1963 Mark I 500cc Venom, a 4 speed version, is very nicely finished in classic Velocette black. An older restoration, the Velocette presents in very good condition, everything being in working order. The odometer reads 30,873 miles and only has 5 previous keepers on the V5 (a previous green log book is included). A matching numbers motorcycle, the Venom is equipped with a competition magneto and runs 12v electrics. A number of spares are included in this lot.
With its lovely chromed fuel tank and mudguards, and the correct engine cover, this superbly presented Venom represents an eminently usable classic motorcycle.
