1992 ROVER MINI
Registration Number: J743 RFC
Chassis Number: SAXXL2S1020509521
Launched in 1959, and considered an icon of the 1960s, the Mini is one of the most successful motor cars of all time, and one which transcends class and social status with consummate ease. Such was the success of the Mini that it was exported to every corner of the world, and indeed manufactured in most continents for local home markets. The Italian version of the Mini, sold under the Innocenti marque, was produced in Milan and distributed throughout Europe. The City E was one of just two Mini models you could buy in 1987. An entry level model, highlights as such were 12-inch steel wheels, a pair of ashtrays, City decals, and a driver's door mirror.
Originally registered in June 1992 as a 998cc Mini City E, this example has more recently been purchased from Yorkshire-based Mini specialists GB Mini Garage. In current ownership the Mini has been maintained by Bristol-based Slark Classic Car Restoration.
The Mini has just recently benefited from a new cylinder head, battery and alternator, underbody wax treatment, a replacement dashboard, the fitting of Wipac spotlights, a Bluetooth stereo, and magnolia Smiths gauges. A tidy example of this model, the Mini will now benefit from minor attention to the paintwork in one or two places, as indicated in the attached images.
Finished in Old English White with Cooper stripes, minilite alloys and a black interior, and with an MoT certificate to July 2024, this is an attractive example of a perennial favourite in the classic car world.
