A CANTON FAMILLE ROSE ENAMEL VASE
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
of shaped square form, the sides painted in puce with four panels of scaly dragons amidst clouds, all reserved against a light turquoise ground painted with assorted blooms framed within green leafy tendrils
21.5cm high
Although of reasonably good overall appearance there are several areas of loss to the enamel. The most notable is to the underside of the foot with what appears to be a crude attempt to pierce through the base in order to either lamp or attach it to a stand. The rim is slightly misshapen, with resulting loss to the enamel.
