- Rare twin carburettor machine

The BSA A7 was launched in 1946, produced at the BSA factory in Small Heath, Birmingham. In response to competition from the Triumph Tiger 100, BSA launched the A7SS Star Twin, a twin carburettor model produced for one year only. The new model had an A10-based engine with an increased compression ratio of 7:1, the latest design of cylinder head with austenitic steel inlet and exhaust valves, and a separate inlet manifold to allow twin carburettors. The uprated engine was fitted to a plunger frame and finished with extra chrome. Well made and reliable, in the 1950s a A7SS Star Twin was recorded with 150,000 miles on its original engine.
This beautiful twin carburettor A7SS offered for sale has enjoyed an extensive restoration a few years ago, including a rebuilt engine.
The bike has been recommissioned and we understand is now running well.
All in all a rare bike presented in very nice condition.
