depicting a man in white wig and blue jacket, painted on ivory under glass with decorative gold border of chased and pierced gold of foliage and ribbon bow design. The tortoiseshell being covered with a fine woven lattice work of mother of pearl with gold studs. The lid and and box being trimmed trimmed with chased gold bands.
