A TREEN WHISTLE NAIEVELY CARVED AS CROUCHING PIG, DATED 1729

More Information

We are not 100% certain that this is a whistle. The central slot in the belly seems to be missing a sliding cap or hatch but could be for filling some sort of shaker or small snuff and the rear of the pig may have had a stopper. The date and name are in ink. Both the ears are chipped and overall wear and marking to the body.
