- Very famous bike by one of the UK's top Triton builders
- Star of show at the Brighton classic bike show
Ian Kennedy was a renowned builder of special British Motorcycles, in the same league as such contemporaries as Dave Degans, Paul Dunstall and John Tickle. Other than bikes, Kennedy produced a series of 'bolt on goodies' for DIY Triton builders, aimed to improve the looks and speed of their machine.
Ian Kennedy’s desire was to build a motorcycle that was fast, handled well and above all differed from the mainstream. 629 COW is certainly that, with its bold purple frame and flamboyant metal flake paintwork, it screams the 60s. Using the Norton Featherbed frame and Roadholder forks, power came from a breathed on Triumph Bonneville specification engine, using Thruxton camshafts and a modified head (which incidentally has been more recently overhauled by the Cylinder Head Shop of Wimbledon).
A very famous machine, 629 COW appeared as a guest of honour at The Brighton Motorcycle Show in 1970, also to feature in renowned motorcycle journalist Roy Bacon’s book ‘British Motorcycles of the 1960s’. A copy of the book is included in the sale, together with other documentation of 629 COWs journey through time.
Offered in good running order, this standout build is ready to hit the bike shows in 2025.
