decorated in gold and silver takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with a samurai playing a flute outside of a gate, whilst his horse grazes nearby, its ambumi (stirrups) inlaid with shell, the interior of the lid amusingly decorated with a scene of two humanised monkeys in conversation, one wearing a sanbaso headdress, the other holding a wooden wand attached with paper, the copper suiteki (water-dropper) in the form of a shell, with a tomobako storage box
