A GOLD MOUNTED TORTOISE SHELL SNUFF BOX INSET WITH A WEDGEWOOD JASPERWARE PLAQUE, C. 1800. The lid is set with a gold frame chased with scrolls and urns beneath a crystal cover. The gold lined interior has a cut away section to the lid revealing the stamped 'Wedgwood' mark on the base of the plaque.

PROVENANCE: From the Private Collection of the Late George Withers (1946-2023)
The box is in good condition save for a small chip to the upper right hand corner of the glass. The gold parts and the tortoise shell are undamaged and there are no signs of repair.
