PROVENANCE: Dr David McCay. From the same private collection as the Wanli garlic mouth vase gifted to the V&A Museum by his wife Mrs. F H McCay, accession No. CIRC.23-1950.
Whilst both present well, on close inspection there a several chips to the enamels in places, both lids are misshapen around the rims and there is a compression and missing enamel to the rim of one ewer. General signs of age and use.
