SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127–1279)

elegantly potted with a compressed globular body rising from a short foot to a narrow waisted neck, fitted with a domed cover surmounted by a pointed knop, set with a slender curved spout opposite a loop handle, the body lightly carved with stylised floral scrolls beneath a luminous, pale bluish glaze pooling to a slightly deeper tone in the recesses, the glaze stopping neatly above the foot to reveal the fine white porcelain body
