A FINE FAMILLE VERTE INSCRIBED BEAKER
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

this simple but elegant deep beaker is finely potted with steep gently flaring sides rising from a short foot. The exterior is delicately enamelled in the famille verte palette with a lady sitting in contemplation within a fenced garden.
The two-lined poetic inscription with two red seal marks on the reverse of the beaker can be translated as:
"In the early morning, wake up alone without accompanies. Sitting next to the dressing table only has emptiness and resentment".
10.5cm high
