1951 BENTLEY "CORNICHE II" FACTORY DESIGN PROPOSAL DOCUMENT
Entitled "Corniche II. A New Record Breaking Saloon Sports Car"
Delivered in January 1951, this factory prepared internal proposal document outlines a plan within Bentley to produce a prototype new speed record car, the Corniche II, a development of the previous pre-war Corniche prototype.
The development of this concept would be a new high performance Bentley road car built by H.J. Mulliner. This project later expressed itself in the new Bentley R-Type Continental of 1952.
