A 17TH CENTURY BRONZE PLAQUE OF THE VIRGIN AND CHILD, the tabernacle shaped back plate with the Virgin and Child separately cast, the pediment with a silvered figure of God and another bronze 17th century plaque of the Virgin and Child with holes for mounting, both with deep coloured patination.
16.5 x 9.5 cms max
Patina is varied on the main plaque with rubs to high areas such as heads, hands and fabric folds. Other brighter areas include the pediment left hand column base and base of the plaque. The reverse has traces of old silver solder, river heads and an additional hole next to one rivet. The finish is very rough with varied dark and some light green patination. The smaller plaque has wear to high points, three vacant holes near the base, rough and varied patina to the back. Extra photos loaded.
