A LATE 17TH CENTURY EIGHT DAY WALNUT LONGCASE CLOCK, 28 cm brass dial signed Francis Hussey, London below the silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with date apeture and slender subsidiary seconds, decorated with cherub spandrels divided by engraved foliage, fleur de lys half hour markings, ringed winding apertures and notched winding squares, 5 ringed pillar movement with countwheel on the back plate the hood with overhanging cornice, blind cut frieze and barley twist pillars, convex moulded throat section over a single door, on a crossbanded base supported on bun feet, 202 cm high
In our opinion, the movement is original to the case.
All elements of the dial and the movement appear to be present and in order.
In regards to the case, there is a small 3 cm crack to the glass.
The four bun feet and the barley twist pillasters appear to be later additions / replacements.
Otherwise case and movement in excellent condition
Please note:
The hinges on the trunk door are lacking screws
