1960 Triumph 500 Long Distance Trials

Registration Number: 528 BTM
Frame Number: T100AH17073
Engine Number: HI7073

- Offered with No Reserve

Between the years of 1957 and 1969 Triumph’s Meriden factory produced over 30,000 of Edward Turners famous engines in the guise of 500 and 650cc twins. In later years the 500cc machines were known as Tiger 100 or Daytona, the Daytona name deriving from the 1966 Daytona 200 race at Daytona Beach Florida where in 1966 Buddy Elmore won the race with an average speed 96.6 mph on a Tiger 100.

528 BTM, a Triumph 500, was built a few years ago as a long distance trials machine. The bike was designed for riders competing in organized road trial events of up to 150 miles and more, with set off road sections to contend with. The bike’s engine and gearbox have been rebuilt, and fitted with electronic ignition and a new carburettor. Built in readiness for competition, 528 BTM has only been ridden 25 test miles before being put into storage and not used. Now in need of some recommissioning before use, this capable machine is offered with No Reserve.
