Arriving just prior to the millennium, the M Coupe was exactly what the doctor ordered for BMW. What they conceptualised was a Motorsport division mash-up; packaged into a pocket-sized, angry hot-rod. The 321bhp, straight-six motor was pulled from the E36 M3 Evolution and lowered into a Z3 shell. It was a meeting of retro 2 seater design and motorsport engineering — a compact, muscular roadster imbued with the performance and precision of BMW’s M Division. Introduced in 1997, the M Roadster took the charming Z3 shape and transformed it into a true driver’s machine, instantly recognisable by its flared arches, wider track, and purposeful stance.

Paired with a close-ratio five-speed manual gearbox, the Z3M offers thrilling, tactile performance, with 0–60mph achieved in around five seconds and handling that remains wonderfully balanced and communicative.

Finished here in Arctic Silver Metallic over Estoril Blue Nappa leather, this example is a very well-specified model from factory, which we understand very nicely throughout. Also included is the optional BMW hardtop which looks excellent fitted and certainly makes the car more practical for year round use.
