LALIQUE VICTOIRE CAR MASCOT
Rene Lalique 'Victoire' Car Mascot, introduced 18th April 1928
Rene Lalique was famous for ensuring every finished piece was perfect when being released from the mould in the heat before going through the additional processes to finish; mould workers, polishing workers and finally fine signature finishing specialists.
Due to overheating in the mould, this flawed piece would usually have been discarded and for it to survive is quite remarkable. It is also testament to the Lalique workers who obviously highly rated the mascot and allowed it to be finished correctly.
The item has no damage, chips or polishing. The face is beautiful and intact with clear signature and France marks. It measures the correct 25.6cm in full length.
This museum quality piece would be a superb addition to any collection.
