A LARGE AND IMPORTANT FRENCH ROYAL ARMORIAL CHINESE EXPORT DISH FROM THE SERVICE OF LOUIS XV

bearing the Royal arms of Louis XV within the orders of Saint-Michel and Saint-Esprit, a band of gilt and iron-red scrolling lotus at the well punctuated by cartouches of addorsed L's, the rim with panels of fans and lotus alternate with bowls of finger citrus and other fruit on elaborate daises

Louis XV, King of France and Navarre.
NOTE: For identical dishes from the same service see; Chateau de Versailles, commissioned by Louis XV in 1738 through the French East India Company; also, a dish sold by Christie's New York, 26th Jan 2015, lot 72.
There is a repaired rim break and a resulting long hairline running approx 1/2 way through the dish (this has previously been restored). There is also an large over painted section on the rim we are unable to estimate how much porcelain remains if any beneath the overpainting.
