The seventh generation of the legendary 911, the new 991 model was revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show as a replacement for the outgoing 997. Only the third entirely new platform since the 911 was launched in 1963, the new model was slightly larger, with a longer wheelbase, yet weight was kept down using a clever blend of high-strength steel, aluminium and composites. A new transaxle allowed for the wheels to be moved in relation to the position of the engine, significantly improving weight distribution and cornering performance. 

Introduced in May 2013, the range-topping Turbo featured a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre motor generating 513 bhp and 457 lb⋅ft of torque. The S version added a useful 39bhp (giving 552 bhp) and improved torque to propel the most powerful variant to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds according to Porsche, but actually achieved an eye-watering 2.6 seconds by many car magazine tests.

The Turbo model featured active rear-wheel steering became a feature of the model; at over 80 km/h the front and rear wheels steered in the same direction, while below 50 km/h they steered in opposite directions. The seven-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK) was programmed for even faster gear changes, aerodynamics were improved with a multi-stage extendable front spoiler and a rear wing with adjustable height. The engine featured a dynamic boost function, which holds boost pressure when the accelerator is only briefly released. The engine then can respond virtually instantaneously when the accelerator is pressed again after a load change. The Sport Response Button was a new feature in the Sport Chrono Package, for which Porsche drew on motor racing for inspiration. The responsiveness of the engine and the transmission could be adjusted at the push of a button, allowing the Turbo to accelerate optimally for up to 20 seconds, for example when overtaking. Meanwhile, a countdown in the instrument cluster told the driver how much time remained. A technical tour de force, the 991 Turbo S is rapidly acquiring classic status, with good low mileage examples now being snapped up by canny collectors.

An exceptionally well specified example, this 2014 Turbo S is beautifully finished in GT Silver metallic with a full black leather interior. With just three owners from new, and having covered in that time only a shade over 19,000 miles, the 991 benefits from Porsche main dealer service history, and is offered complete with original bill of sale, book pack, both keys, file of service invoices, extended Porsche warranty.

The accompanying service book is stamped a total of five times with Porsche main dealers, the last being at 16,804 miles in July 2024.

Having originally retailed at over £150,000, the Turbo S is in our opinion very sensibly estimated in the current market. All in all a fabulous example of one of the finest modern supercars you can buy. The 991 will be offered with a current MoT certificate, and with new front Pirelli P-Zero tyres prior to sale.
