Depicting the Eastern Han court official 'Geng Gong' and with other generals standing in front of an alter table and worshipping the Well God, the underside of the dish with an unglazed channel foot rim, the base painted with underglaze blue leaf mark within a double-ring.

PROVENANCE: Formerly from a Norwegian private collection. The story related to a time of war with the Xiongnu, during which they were beseiged for half a year, causing them to run out of water and food.
Overall good condition, with light restoration to frits and nibbles at the rim.
