the two circular mixed-cut sapphires within heart shaped mounts set with rose-cut diamonds, the plumes and arrow head set with rose-cut diamonds.

property of descendants of the Duchess of Richmond and Gordon. By repute presented to her by Alexandra, the last Russian Tsarina as a 'tip', after she and Tsar Nicholas stayed at Gordon Castle, Banffshire.

Each sapphire measures approximately 4.4mm x 3.4mm x 2.7mm Attractive well matched mid blue colour. Bright and lively stones, some surface and facet edge abrasions. one with deeper colour saturation through the stone than the other.
Diamonds are bright and lively despite flaws.
Brooch is 6.5cm long
