A GOOD PAIR OF BRONZE VASES ON INTEGRATED STANDS
MING DYNASTY, 16TH / 17TH CENTURY
29.5cm high
NOTE: A beautiful pair of Ming dynasty bronze vases. The baluster shape with integral pierced stands was a popular form in early Ming metalwork, often reflecting the refined craftsmanship of the period. The high copper content and heavy weight further supports their attribution to the Ming dynasty, Chinese bronzes often contained a higher proportion of copper, sometimes mixed with other alloys like lead and tin to achieve different textures and finishes.
