汉 绿釉陶罐
of archaic hu form, moulded on the body with ribs and three ridges at the shoulder, all beneath a gently flared, lipped rim, covered on the interior of the mouth with a rich amber glaze, the exterior and base covered in a green glaze, now oxidised to a silver iridescence, all on three short spur feet, the rim with original spurs from the firing with Japanese wood box with paper description

PROVENANCE: From an old Japanese collection, sold by Yukichi Inouye, April 2019.
NOTE: A larger vase of this form, covered in a similar iridescent glaze, is illustrated by Aileen Lau in Spirit of Han, no. 167, p. 156, where the author dates it to the Eastern Han dynasty.
