A NELSON RELATED STAFFORDSHIRE ENAMEL BOX, C.1798. A blue enamel box decorated with a scene of 'L'Orient on fire in the glorious victory by Adm. Nelson 1st August 1798.' Made to commemorate the Royal Navy's victory over Napoleon's fleet at the Battle of the Nile.

PROVENANCE: From the Private Collection of the Late George Withers (1946-2023)
The box is in good condition save for a small chip the the base - see photo. The scene is undamaged and the internal mirror is also in good order. There is a small hairline crack inside the box and a 1mm chip close to the rim near the hairline.
