AN IRISH PROVINCIAL DISH RING, CORK, C.1760. A very scarce Irish Provincial dish ring. Chased and pierced with a pastoral scenes, buildings, a bird and a lion among flowers and scrolls. The reserves to either side are respectively engraved with a Baron's coronet and a bird. In very good condition, the ring is twice marked G.H for George Hodder of cork, C.1750.
Other examples of Irish Provincial rings are recorded but are very scarce indeed.
