A SILVER WINE COOLER, LONDON 1836, ARMS OF ROTHSCHILD. Made by Robert Garrard, the cooler was part of an extensive service of silver bought at the time of Lionel de Rothschild's marriage to his cousin Charlotte in 1836. Both sides of the cooler have the full coat of arms and associated crests of Rothschild impaling Rothschild above cast chinoiserie decoration to the lower half of the body. The liner is Old Sheffield Plate, fixed in place with a screw mount.

More Information

The silver part of the wine cooler is in very good condition, no dents, repairs nor damage. The internal screw mount for the liner has been re-soldered and the Old Sheffield Plate liner is slightly distorted.
