GENTLEMAN'S 4499 ROLEX OYSTER AIR KING WRIST WATCH

an early Air-King model that was originally launched in 1946. With highly distinctive numeral configuration, raised Arabic indexes of Art Deco design. Rolex manually wound 10.5 hunter movement, lever escapement, 17 jewels, patented Rolex Superbalance. Steel Oyster case, chamfered bezel.
Strap and buckle not original.
Case measures 34mm by 40mm.

The watch screws down correctly and tightly, with no visible wear to the thread. Having been observed for a few hours seems to keep time. Surface scratches to the case. The polished bezel has minor and light surface scratching visible though eye glass. The dial has discolouration showing some over all blotching and some pin prick eruptions. Replacement modern strap. Minor marks to hands. In our consideration, overall good vintage condition.
