- Striking Lucky Strike livery

Part of Suzuki's range of high powered sportsbikes, the first of the GSXR 750 range was introduced at the Cologne Motorcycle Show in October 1984. The bike had an air/oil cooled 749cc transverse in-line 4 cylinder engine producing 148 bhp, taking it to a staggering 179 mph.

The GSX-R underwent many incarnations through the years, dropping the previous solid slab sides to become a sleeker machine, and earning the name the Slingshot because of its Mikuni BST36SS Slingshot carbs. 1992 saw major changes with the GSX-R WN, sporting a new water cooled engine, revised frame, bodywork and suspension. By 1996 the Suzuki Ram Air Direct system was employed, featuring air ducts forcing air directly into the airbox. Instantly recognisable by the huge twin air ducts in the front, and the racing hump seat, the new SRAD was guaranteed to become a future classic.

This lovely 1997 GSX-R 750 T is finished in the striking livery of the great AMA Superbike and World 500cc Champion rider Kevin Schwantz. The bike has been comprehensively overhauled in current ownership, including new chain and sprockets, new radiator, a full Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, also new Michelin tyres and rebuilt carburettors. A well sorted example of a landmark model, this fabulous looking superbike is surely not one to miss.
