painted with the Three Friends of Winter, sanyou, pine, prunus and bamboo, in blue and yellow enamel peach-shaped reserves, all on a rich green ground painted as a large open leaf with a naturalistic margin, the underside as a stylised flowerhead, the base with a lotus flower mark in underglaze blue within a double ring

PROVENANCE: From the collection of the Nieuwenhuys van Hees family, one the most famous collectors of Chinese porcelain in the Netherlands at the beginning of the 20th century.

NOTE: The pair to this dish is in the Groninger Museum, Groningen, inventory no. 1994/142, the gift of M. Leenhouwers, and is illustrated by Christiaan J. A. Jörg in Famille Verte: Chinese Porcelain in green enamels, no. 66, p. 65.
