ENAMEL ON COPPER PORTRAIT MINIATURE, JOHN WHITGIFT, ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY, after an original portrait in Lambeth Palace, in the manner of Henry Bone but apparently unfinished and in muted colours in a tortoiseshell veneered frame, inscription to the rear, 'Whitgift ...' and bearing an old collectors label for the renowned collector Alfred Trapnell.
