A STAFFORDSHIRE ENAMEL BOX, A PUG'S HEAD, C.1800. The lid with an internal mirror bearing the legend 'Friendship Sincere tis a Jewel Dear'. Together with an oval enamel box with a scene of Milsom Street, 'A Present from Bath'.

PROVENANCE: From the Private Collection of the Late George Withers (1946-2023)
The pug has two small ( 1 and 2 mm) pieces of enamel missing from the outside, under the chin. There is a small chip to the bottom of the lid by the mount. There are some hairline cracks to the inside but no missing enamel within. The Bath box has some damage to the base and cracks to both the lid and interior. The lids fit tightly and the mirrors are in good order. See photos.
