PROVENANCE: From a private Japanese collection, Tokyo. Sold by Yukichi Inouye, April 2019, stock number 9874.
NOTE: The two pairs of characters in the centre are Tao Yan Ming Qun, “In autumn, flocks of geese call and fly together”.
An identical dish from the same set was included by Yukichi Inouye in the T. Edo Inouye & Son 2013 exhibition of 100 Kosometsuke Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Small Dishes for the Japanese Market in the Ming Dynasty, no. 88.
