- Qualifies for the Banbury veteran run
One of the most famous motorcycle manufacturers of small capacity machines, Francis-Barnett was founded in 1919 by Gordon Francis and Arthur Barnett in a workshop at Lower Ford Street in Coventry. The business made affordable machines for general purpose, lovingly known as Franny Bs. The favoured power plant was the bulletproof Villiers 172cc and 197cc engine, to be replaced in latter years by engines from AMC.
Having been stored for many years, this 197cc Francis-Barnett was in good running order before storage, but would need recommissioning before use. This charming veteran machine will make a simple and inexpensive entry into the annual Banbury Veteran Run.
Note: Although registered with the DVLA system, the bike will be sold on a bill of sale, a new V5C will need to be applied for.
