ASTON-MARTIN BY STEPHEN ARCHER AND SIMON HARRIES, 1998 PALAWAN PRESS

Number 0454 of 1000 examples. According to the publisher:

"A unique book about an exceptional car comprising 400 pages, measuring 290mm x 330mm and containing over 400 photographs. Published in 1998, the first book ever dedicated to the Aston Martin Zagato covering the history of Aston Martin, DB4, Zagato, the design production and subsequent racing histories of the cars.

Stephen Archer researched the individual histories of each of the twenty original Zagatos and relates for each car its specification, modification, owners, details of usage, status and condition. Simon Harries places Zagato within the historical progression of design and coachbuilding in Italy.

The standard edition was bound in silver Skivertex and presented in a clear Perspex case, while the leather edition was bound in navy leather, blind embossed with the Z logo on the front with light blue blocked type on the front and spine and encased in a silver buckram slipcase.

A bespoke edition was also available, bound in black Morocco leather with silver blocking on the front and spine, plus a stainless steel plaque on the front of the book, engraved with the book number, and encased in a silver buckram drop-back presentation box with a Zagato badge on the front of the box.

Under a separate cover, the bespoke edition also featured a set of four prints of the Zagato commissioned by Palawan and created and produced by Ercole Spada, the designer of the Zagato."
