1949 Bond Minibyke
Registration Number: TBA
Frame Number: TBA
- Exceptionally rare model, in current ownership for c.40 years
Before getting into three wheeled cars, Bond's first motorcycle was the aluminium-framed Villiers 1F-powered, two-speed ‘Minibyke” of 1950, initially without front suspension. A "De-Luxe" model, with telescopic forks, legshields and fully enveloping mudguards followed in 1951.
Discovered by our vendor in his uncle's garden in the 1980s, this very early Minibyke was partly restored before residing in our client's loft for the last 30 or so years.
Offered with a number of documents and period research on the bike, this exceptionally rare example is believed this was the third Minibyke built and such possibly a prototype model. The body of the bike was restored by our vendor, a former Rolls-Royce employee, with the remaining parts being cleaned, primed and sealed, stored in boxes to be reassembled.
An interesting project, offered at No Reserve.
