A YUE WEAR CELADON JAR WITH TAOTIE MASKS.
WESTERN JIN DYNASTY (AD 265–317)
“饕餮”耳瓶 越窑 西晋 265-317
Finely potted with a compressed globular body rising to a short waisted neck and an everted rim, the shoulders applied with a pair of taotie masks, each modelled.  The body is covered overall with an olive-green celadon glaze, thinning over the raised areas and pooling attractively in the recesses, stopping neatly above the foot to reveal the fine-grained, buff-coloured stoneware body
