- Very rare farm bike in the UK, overhauled engine.
Honda decided to develop a 'go anywhere' machine with equipment to do all sorts of jobs around the farm or estate, where horses were considered the only way to get to difficult places via rough roads. Enter the CT125 Farm Bike.
Honda first used the CT design in 1964 with the 90cc CT200, more commonly later known as CT90. Good for exploring woods and forest paths, hills and mountains, the adventure bike was born. In 1971 the model was upgraded to a 125cc OHC engine, and a large luggage rack, which usually ended up with a large plastic crate on it. A fully enclosed chaincase was also fitted, to protect when riding through mud and water. There was also a very useful side stand on each side so the rider could disembark on either side if the terrain was uneven. A 19 inch front wheel was also fitted rather than a standard off road 21 inch wheel. The transmission was also very different, with lower first 3 gears to give more low down power on difficult terrain. The majority of these machines went to America, New Zealand and other places of vast farmland.
A handful found their way to English shores, and this is one of them. This machine has been overhauled by the vendor and is described as in good running condition with a valid MoT to April 2025. A rare and unique bike, usefully offered with a spare front wheel in the sale.
