PROVENANCE: From the collection of Johan Lilliehöök (1865-1949), Swedish diplomat, Consul General in Shanghai 1922-1932.
NOTE: The service was made for Leonora, widower of Thomas Frederick of Westminster, who died in June 1720. The service was probably made for her son and heir, Sir John. A similar plate from this rare service is illustrated by David Sanctuary Howard in Chinese Armorial Porcelain, Volume I, D2 p. 202.
