CHERISHED REGISTRATION "4 CAM"
"4 CAM", the term synonymous with the high watermark of both Porsche and Ferrari engineering in the late 1950s and into the 1960s.
The Porsche Four Cam engine was developed by legendary engineer Dr Ernst Fuhrmann as new engine for the Porsche 550 Spyder, with later, larger engines fitted to the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS.
Meanwhile over at Ferrari the leading 275 road car was renamed in 1966 to reflect its new four cam engine. The 275 GTB/4 was the first ‘production’ Ferrari to be fitted with the four overhead camshaft version of the V12.
This exciting and unique cherished is held by Dore & Rees on a DVLA V778 Retention Document, which expires November 2032.
