- A very fine example with Norton Wideline Featherbed frame, Roadholder forks
The motorcycle showrooms in 1960s Britain were full of run of the mill bikes; they performed well if you were Mr. Average riding a Mr. Average bike. The British motorcycle industry didn't want to produce highly tuned risque specials. So it was left to the DIY motorcyclist to buy the best British components and turn them into something better. The recipe for success was usually a Norton Featherbed frame fitted with a Triumph 650 Bonneville engine.
The "Triton" was born, and so with it came the Rockers scene. These 'Cafe Racers' sprinted against each other from one cafe to another. London's Ace Cafe on the North Circular Road was one of the top destinations.
This fabulous Triton was built by a specialist builder in 2008 to a very high standard, using a
Norton Featherbed Wideline frame, Triumph T110 vertical twin engine with a Bonneville head and twin monoblock, Norton Roadholder Forks, aluminium tank and central oil tank. One of the finest Tritons on the road today, this super example has recently been serviced and is now ready for some rockin’ summer fun.
