the silk couched in gold-wrapped threads with eight five-clawed dragons surrounded by brightly coloured ruyi clouds, bats, babao, birds and flaming pearls, all above lishui stripes and crashing waves, lined with pale blue silk

PROVENANCE: From the Kee Ming Yuet Collection.

The robe has faded unevenly throughout with resulting colour variations. Several pulled threads in places and signs of wear consistent with age and use. Also, some of the joint stitching is a little pulled in places.
