the oval mixed-cut blue paste within a gold mount, to an outer border of twenty circular-cut white pastes, claw and collet set in silver, above a gold mount, with a detachable brooch pin fitting, with two further detachable mounts, each with eight circular hoops to attach to a bracelet mount.

The brooch replicates the sapphire and diamond brooch which Prince Albert gave to Queen Victoria on the eve of their wedding, which took place on the 10th February 1840. Queen Victoria's brooch could also be converted to fit into a bracelet mount.
