A TRIPOD BRONZE CENSER WITH ARABIC INSCRPTION, ZHENGDE MARK,17/18 CENTURY
阿拉伯文三足香炉,大明正德年制款,十七至十八世纪
A bronze tripod censer rounded form supported on three legs, with a slightly everted mouth rim. The body is finely cast with an Arabic inscription around the exterior, invoking blessings or praises, suggesting it was intended for use in a Chinese Islamic context (such as a Hui Muslim community or mosque).
The censer bears a cast six-character Zhengde reign mark (Da Ming Zhengde nian zhi) on the underside, although it was likely produced later, during the Late Ming to Qing period 17th–18th century.
