Introduced in 1993, the Audi 80 S2 Avant Quattro brought together performance, practicality, and understated sophistication in a way that few rivals could match in its era. Based on the sturdy and elegant Audi 80 platform, the S2 was the spiritual successor to the iconic Audi Quattro, offering a more sophisticated and contemporary interpretation of Audi’s all-wheel-drive performance philosophy. Powered by Audi’s celebrated 2.2-litre, five-cylinder turbocharged engine producing around 230bhp, the S2 Avant delivered spirited performance with 0–60 mph in just over six seconds and a top speed approaching 150 mph.
