Described by many as the first superbike Japan produced, the Honda CB750 first graced our shores in 1969, posing a direct threat to the British motorcycle industry. Hundreds of thousands of this eponymous model were sold, with many original examples still on the road today. The CB 750 was powered by a 736cc SOHC air cooled, transverse, in-line four cylinder, developing 68bhp, and topping out at 125mph.
The very epitome of a classic 70s motorcycle, the CB750 had an upright comfortable riding position, large fuel tank and four chrome silencers. In 1976 Honda introduced the F1, a completely different machine with a Double Overhead Cam Engine and a single silencer. The F1 was a flop, and so Honda was forced to reintroduce the K series with the popular K7 model.
This very nice original K7 has recently enjoyed much mechanical attention, with a recent top end engine rebuild, overhauling of the carburettors, and the fitting of electronic ignition. Understood to be in good running condition when last used in 2024, the bike has been in storage for some months so may benefit very light recommissioning. This classic Honda is all in all a genuine example of a true classic.
This machine is now offered with No Reserve, to the highest bid on the day.
