The 1978 Suzuki RM125 arrived as a serious contender in the fiercely competitive 125cc class, bringing with it a refined chassis, sharp handling, and the kind of high-revving two-stroke performance that made Suzuki a dominant force on the track.

This era of the RM series saw Suzuki pushing the boundaries of motocross technology, and the 1978 model benefitted from a redesigned frame that improved rigidity and balance, giving riders better control in the air and on rough terrain.
